Whitby lies on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the town and surrounding areas offer a wonderful diverse environment to explore.
It's where I live and I love it! Whitby has it all, famous Fish & Chips, Captain Cook, great eateries & coffee houses. Fabulous beaches, fossil hunting and fishing. Themed weekends such as Goth weekend, Steam Punk, War Weekend, 60's and Motown and Folk weekend too name but a few. Boat trips, whale watching, craft beers, boat building, shopping. Museums, walks, wildlife & much more

Falling Foss Tea garden lies within a woodland and right alongside Falling Foss Waterfall. This is a fantastic little place to visit with its outdoor tea garden, stream and waterfall and wonderful walks. Great for families as it has a children's play area.

Walks
Fantastic beach walk from Whitby to Sandsend. Passable most of the time but can be cut off during high tides. When you get to Sandsend make sure to take a break at Tides or Sandside Cafe for refreshments before you head back.
It's about 2.2 miles from Whitby to Sandsend along the beach, part of the walk can be done on the sea wall at the Whitby end which is a lovely walk if you have a buggy or wheelchair.
