Food scene
Located just down Monroe Street, I’m at The Coupe at least once a week! They do coffee and pastries to-go ($3-$5), as well as sit down breakfast ($15pp), lunch, and dinner. It’s pretty big so there isn’t usually a wait (Sometimes for brunch), and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth checking out!

A few minutes walk, this is the place to get a bagel sandwich in DC ($10). Though, be prepared to wait a bit (10 minute or so) on the weekends. If you like bagel sandwiches though, it’s worth it.

Just down 11th Street - El Chucho is a great Mexican restaurant. Pretty affordable, great margaritas, and a nice roof deck for the summer. Does get loud/bumping later on!

If you want to grab a casual pizza and beer, Red Rocks at the corner of 11th and Park is hard to beat!

Bad Saint was rated #2 Best New Restaurant in America recently, and is on all the “Best of DC” lists - Zagat, Bon Appetit, Washington Post, you name it. I haven’t been, but if you’re a foodie and don’t mind waiting in line at 5PM to snag a table, perhaps this should go on your list. They don’t take reservations.
