Food Scene
This is a friendly local pub that's just a 10-15 minute walk from our home. Adam and the staff really look after you. Even if you don't want to eat there, you can sit in the cosy sofas next to the open fire and just relax. The food though is lovely and I'd highly recommend it. That said, if it does have one fault, it's probably that it has a limited vegetarian menu but I'm sure if you ask for something they'd be happy to accommodate your request. Pub isn't open on Mondays.

The food here is superb. The Yorkshire Puddings are huge! The surroundings are boutique style, modern but set in an old pub. We love this place!

Located adjacent to the River Nene, this place does simple but delicious food and home made cakes. It's the ideal place to head to after you've had a walk around the Ringstead Lakes nature reserve of any other local walks in this area. The mill wheel still turns which is great to watch.

Sightseeing
This castle is located approximately 20 minutes' drive from us. It was built by William the Conquerer. It's located in quintessential rolling hills of English countryside and during the summer months often has events, such as jousting displays. Well worth a visit to the castle, its gardens and tearooms.

We highly recommend starting your day in style and visiting the Champagne bar at St Pancras. You could even end your day in style and enjoy a glass of champers whilst waiting for your train home!

Parks & Nature
Kinewell Lake is great if you want a walk that's not too long. It's a nature reserve with lots of birds to see. There's also a tea room half way round so you can always break up your walk with a cuppa and a piece of cake if you need to (it closes at 4pm though).

It's child friendly, easy walks, disabled friendly, has a great cafe, is easy to get to. Beautiful surroundings.

Essentials
This is a new store which is good for basics whether it's food or toiletries you're needing. If you want something a bit more upmarket, there is a Marks & Spencer garage food store opposite, or, if you want to travel appx 4 miles, you will get to a large Waitrose store.

This is a new shopping experience set adjacent to stunning lakes with walks and wildlife, boating and canoeing. It has a massive range of shops ranging from SuperDry, House of Fraser, Primark, Boots, Phase Eight, FatFace to Paperchase, L'Occitane and umpteen more! It also has great eateries and coffee shops plus there will soon be a multiplex cinema (currently being built).

The ancestral home of Diana, Princess of Wales. This is a fabulous stately home to walk around and has the museum in the old stable block displaying oodles of Diana memorabilia. Not to be missed!
