This traditional small tavern with delicious food, local wine and a lot of taste is located in Katouna just 5 minutes walk from villa Marialena. Very good homemade food, good prices, family atmosphere, very kind staff. It is obvious from the good prices that they do not see you as a passing customer.

The southwestern part of the island is Cape Lefkatas or cape Kera. At the edge of this cape, legend wants poet Sappho to put an end to her life because of her unfulfilled love for Phaona. The lighthouse located there has been built on an ancient temple dedicated to Apollo. Marvelous view and sunset!

The Waterfalls of Nydri are located in Nydri village about 17km from Katouna village. Take the short hike to Nydri Waterfalls and be rewarded with a swim among lush scenery. While little water flows down the rock and into the pool, the height of the falls and the scenery surrounding it create a tropical atmosphere complete with wildflowers and thick foliage. The hiking trail is partially paved and has a protective railing, making it safe for those of nearly every skill level. Bring along a towel and consider a change of clothes; you can take a dip in the pool and then get refreshment at the cafe near the trailhead after your swim.
Nidri Waterfalls - Καταρράκτες Νυδριού
The Waterfalls of Nydri are located in Nydri village about 17km from Katouna village. Take the short hike to Nydri Waterfalls and be rewarded with a swim among lush scenery. While little water flows down the rock and into the pool, the height of the falls and the scenery surrounding it create a tropical atmosphere complete with wildflowers and thick foliage. The visitor can wander through the ruins that mainly date back to the Venetian Rule and visit the small church of Santa Maura that is an idea place for romantic weddings. From the crenels you enjoy the view of the channel, the lagoons and also the huge beach in the northeast of the castle. Both inside and outside the castle, nature continuously changes colors and the historical ruins reveal an aspect of Lefkada that only a few people are aware of.
