Iconic hiking area with scenic views. About 55 minutes from my house, which includes a steep 8-mile drive up a winding dirt road. Don't go if you're afraid of heights. Do go if you like adventure.

The most-frequented outdoorsy location in the area. Featured in National Geographic decades ago. Caves, waterfalls and exploring. Family-friendly for the majority of the 3-mile round-trip hike - not strenuous except for the bonus area at the end, a steep climb up to a cave that you can crawl through if you're willing to get muddy.

Family-friendly for the majority of the 3-mile round-trip hike - not strenuous except for the bonus area at the end, a steep climb up to a cave that you can crawl through if you're willing to get muddy.
