Lovely 19th century garden a stone's throw away from the Estrela Basilica. There are a couple of terraces, lakes, a children's playground and a small kiosk that doubles as local library.

A 18th century water reservoir, the Mãe d'Água is a mystical, ample cistern. It's beautiful inside, but do climb the stairs to the terrace. You'll find one of the best unsung views of the city.
