The NW train is under 5 minute walk and is your closest transit into the city :) just for reference, door to door you’re about 20/25 minutes from Times Square. If you're ever taking an Uber or taxi home from Manhattan, its best to tell them "take the upper bridge [the Queensboro Bridge, that is], just hop on 21st street and then take a right on Astoria Blvd, then we'll just jump out when you get to 28th street & Astoria Blvd" Thats basically the quickest, cheapest way to get home.
