Castle built in 1067 to protect the town from marauding hordes. Used for the filming of the black and white version of Ivanhoe in the 1920's - one end of the Castle represented one castle, and the other, squarer end represented another.

Chepstow is fine without a car, but if you want to do the Wye Valley or Monmouth a car is essential. Buses don't run on a Sunday!

Good place for a coffee, light lunch or evening meal. Great if you are on your own as there are books and board games available.

Lovely location. They do tapas and the most amazing skewers. Paella can be had, but notice must be given. You have to book as it is very popular, especially on a nice evening or a sunny lunchtime.
It is down some steps in a vaulted cellar. The staff are lovely and the food is fabulous and very reasonable. They usually give you flaming sambucca to finish!
