Eateries
We have some truly amazing independent restaurants and eateries so very close to the apartment. Here are a few of my recommendations, there is still loads more out there but this is what I can offer for now.
A fantastic lively family venue located directly on the beach, Goat Ledge is a relaxed and welcoming licenced cafe, informally serving fresh fish baps and other tasty fish dishes throughout the day and evening. You can rent a beach hut through the website.

Literally just around the corner is Heist a lively, relaxed street food indoor market and a slightly more formal fresh fish and seafood restaurant called The Boat Yard, specialising in local produce and natural wines. No reservations are required in the street food market.

A short stroll from the apartment, specialising in local produce and natural wines this lovely little restaurant serves delicious meat dishes and the freshest fish and seafood as well as creative veggie and vegan dishes. They also serve a cracking Sunday Roast. I recommend booking in advance.

Great little deli and although yet to eat here, i have been reliably informed that this tiny little tapas bar and taster plate restaurant serves some of the most delicious food ever eaten !! Its a big claim I know but the food does look amazing. The menu changes daily and reservations are required for the restaurant but the tapas bar does not.

Chef Gianluca from Puglia, Italy, has for a number of years built personal relationships with the fishermen and women of Hastings. The wine is carefully selected to compliment the delicate flavours of the wonderful dishes on offer.
One of my favourites, overlooking the sea, this wonderful restaurant, deli and gallery run by the lovely Stephanie Goj is truly a delight. She offers very selective food and lovely wine in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Hell-bent on creating the best burgers on the planet !!! HMHB located directly on the seafront does indeed make damn good burgers. it's a guilty pleasure of ours and the vegan and vegie options are amongst the best I have eaten. The staff are great.

A regular of ours, Tommy's Pizzeria is a lively informal eatery just around the corner. The kitchen uses the very best locally sourced produce. The sourdough pizza is cooked over wood is available for eat-in or takeaway.

Apparently a favourite of Jay Rayner, The Royal opened in mid-October 2019 and since then has earned and maintained its place in the Michelin Guide with a Bib Gourmand status to boot.
The Royal is operated by James Hickson who has a solid hospitality background having learned his trade at well-loved restaurants and gastropubs, including St John, Great Queen Street, The Canton Arms and Moro. James is hands-on at the pub, overseeing the relaxed yet lively atmosphere, friendly service and sophisticated food and drink.

Apparently known as "Portobello Road by the sea", Norman road runs adjacent to our building and has more than its fair share of galleries and shops. London road which ends with a dramatic view of the sea also has a few to offer. I have pointed you in the direction of just some of them here.

The Kino cinema recently reopened with support from the BFI, offers a range of carefully selected independent and art house films. Amazing space and well worth a visit .

A fabulous interior shop specialising in post modern and mid century furniture and art. Directly on the sea front well worth a visit.

Run by Helen and Holly a mother and daughter team, the ladies offer a cracking range of contemporary and vintage interior pieces as well as some wonderful deli foods and in the back tucked away is a specialist wine seller "The Wine Room".

A perennial favourite of ours, Roberts tightly packed antique emporium on Norman Road is a visual delight. There is always something tempting on offer you just have to be prepared for a tight fit.
