Consejos para la ciudad

Costumbres y cultura

Antigua - It's Amazing

Antigua is a small city surrounded by volcanoes in southern Guatemala. It’s renowned for its Spanish colonial buildings, many of them restored following a 1773 earthquake that ended Antigua’s 200-year reign as Guatemala’s colonial capital. Notable architectural examples include baroque La Merced church. It’s an integral part of the city’s famous Semana Santa, a holy week with parades and rituals. The people here are friendly and helpful.
Qué debes empacar

Pack for the Weather and the Cobblestones

Bring comfortable walking shoes and some layers. The cobblestone streets are historical and interesting but your feet will appreciate tennis shoes or sandals with a back on them. The weather is warm and lovely during the day and cooler at night so layers are wise - and a rainjacket during the months of May-November would be wise.
Facilidad para moverse por la casa

Walk or TukTuk

Antigua is so very walkable, you'll rarely wish for motorized transport once you are here. But if you are just tired or loaded down with local goodies a TukTuk is an easy and inexpensive way to catch a ride back home. Be sure to set the price before you agree to ride.
