Located at Alton Baker Park, Pre's Trail is a flat, well-maintained, accessible, and picturesque. It draws hundreds of runners and walkers from the Eugene community every day. Found entirely within the four hundred acres of urban Alton Baker Park and wedged between the Willamette River and Autzen Stadium, the trail traverses wooded, grassland, and riparian areas. Wide enough to easily accommodate the cross country teams and races that take advantage of Pre's ideal location, it is a popular unpaved trail option. Experienced hikers won't find any challenge to the flat, four-mile trail but this is a perfect location for tempo runs , a lovely walk, or people-watching. While the loops of Pre's Trail don't stay in any one environment for long, it does provide short opportunties to see several types of western Oregon wildlife and plants. Wooded and grassland sections alternate, along with some interesting riparian segments along the river. Wildlife is mostly restricted to smaller park animals like ducks and frogs, though fox sightings in the Natural Area are common. Birds circling overheads can include eagles, herons, and ospreys.

https://www.eugenesaturdaymarket.org Rain or shine, every Saturday during the summer from 10a-4p, Downtown Eugene's Saturday Market is the place to be! I listed it as an activity because although it is full of local food and artisan shopping opportunities, Saturday Market is an authentic Eugene experience! Saturday Market is full of feel - good! There's no charge to wander around, take in the beautiful scenery and people and wonderful music and dancing! You're also in Downtown Eugene surrounded by blocks and blocks of amazing shops and dining opportunities!

Food and Shopping

https://oakwaycenter.com Just over a mile from the house, Eugene’s premier shopping experience located in the heart of Eugene. Oakway Center offers a diverse mix of local and national shops and eateries. The Heritage Courtyard offers a plaza environment where one can enjoy shopping, dining opportunities, and entertainment under the canopies of heritage oak trees. Take a walk and browse the many stores and restaurants while enjoying the friendly, unique atmosphere offered only at the Oakway Center. Our fav eats: CafeYumm https://www.cafeyumm.com - a healthy, homegrown PNW franchise that's a great quick food or grab/go option. Combining rice and beans, they have a menu that balances elemental ingredients and tastes amazing! Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options here! SunRiver Brewing https://www.sunriverbrewingcompany.com/oakway-pub/ - fun environment, outdoor seating available, lots of beers on tap, great food and appetizers. SkyBar at Hyatt Hotel - another great outdoor seating environment, good eats and drinks Euphoria Chocolate Company https://euphoriachocolate.com - another locally owned company, the name says it all. Lots of sweet treats - definitely worth a stop. Our fav shops: Eugene Running Company https://www.eugenerunningcompany.com - a MUST stop while in town for any event at Hayward Field. Welcoming runners and walkers (and fans!) of all levels - pay them a visit for some running gear! Locally owned and operated, they also provide information regarding upcoming races, complimentary Track Town U.S.A. map, and free consultation for running injuries! Miss Meers http://www.missmeers.com - not a running shoe shop but a wonderful, locally owned, shoe boutique with some great clothing pieces available too! Outdoor Elements - a fun shop full of high quality goods including soaps, candles, artisan dish wares, jewelry, plants and - in general - a bunch of stuff you don't need but TONS of stuff you will adore!
