Sequoia National park is home to the largest living things on Earth. A trip up to the Giant Forest is a must see while visiting Three Rivers.

Great bar food and hearty bar food, perfect stop on the way home after a day in the park. Plus they have WiFi! It’s our favorite place to come and have a beer. They even have karaoke and live music on occasion if you’re feeling saucy.

Best restaurant in town, in my opinion. I love the atmosphere and the food never disappoints. This place can often booked for private events or closed with odd hours so make sure to have a second choice in mind or circle back another day. It’s worth it!

Nothing is better on a hot summer day after adventuring in the park than a delicious frozen yogurt. Their waffle cones are a legitimate fluffy waffle and so delicious. You can take it to go but I suggest finding a nice spot on the back patio and enjoy the froyo and river view.

Slick rock is a beautiful place to go for a nature walk along the river or go for a swim. Please be mindful of the swift waters during spring and early summer as the river flow can be swift.

A magical space within the park but not all the way up the mountain. This is an amazing swimming hole for all ages. If the water is right it’s a great place for some cliff jumping. Gravel Parking lot is across from the Potwisha Campground. Trail head is at the left of the end of the parking. Take the short trail down along the river to the bridge. Across the bridge is a lovely beach to play, relax and swim. This can get crowded so go early to set up your spot and enjoy the day! Please practice the leave no trace principles: pack it in and pack it out and leave it better than you found it.

Sightseeing

A lovely escape off the beaten path the Mineral King area of Sequoia National Park offers beautiful trails, river fun and camping. On the way to the end of Mineral King you’ll pass through Silver City, an old mining town. Silver City resort is a nice place to stop for a drink or bite to eat. Be sure to plan ahead and map out your trails as there will be no cell service in the area. It’s about an hour and a half to the end of the road. Head east on HWY 198, turn right on Mineral King Dr. And head to the end of the road. Recommended hikes from this location include Mineral King to Eagle Lake (6.5mi.). This area is closed in the winter so be sure to check weather and road conditions before heading out.

Consejos para la ciudad

Cell Phone Service

Most cell phone providers do not offer great service once you get into Three Rivers. Make sure to screen shot directions and home entry information before getting to Lemon Cove. Once at the house the WiFi is sufficient for working and reconnecting. Or you can use the “no service” as a great excuse to disconnect.

Grocery Shopping Tip

I highly recommend bringing your groceries in from out of town. The local market is great for the one offs you might forget. However, high prices reflect the lack of options in town, it’s definitely worth the stop for their baked goods. Stopping in Visalia or Hanford on the way is a good choice for your main meals. -Hanford Costco 2395 E Lacey Blvd, Hanford, CA 93230. -Visalia Costco 1405 W Cameron Ave, Visalia, CA 93277
