Skip the fast food and try out these local spots, all within 5-10 minutes of the suite
Very solid restaurant just a few minutes away. Good atmosphere. They do steaks and fried oysters very well and one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve eaten.

I’ve only eaten here one time but it was pretty good. I know a lot of people who like it here and it’s 5 minutes from the suite so I’m listing it here.

Sightseeing
Walking path on the dam, public beach access
Lake Murray dam is right around the corner (2 miles) and provides an awesome opportunity to walk the entirety of the dam which overlooks Lake Murray. At one point in the 1920s this was the largest freshwater reservoir in the world. The dam is approximately a mile and a half long and you can park on either side of it and walk it in it’s entirety. It’s pretty cool!
During spring and summer there is a pubic beach you can access and enjoy, see more details here:

Saluda Shoals Park is an absolutely gorgeous nature preserve located around the corner from this property (3 miles). It’s a pretty good hoof, an easy bike ride, or you can drive the car a few minutes and be surrounded by great nature trails, splash pad, Canoe, Kayak and Tube Rentals, environmental center and more. There are miles of walking paths along the Saluda river with plenty of opportunity to see local wildlife of every sort. It’s fabulous, especially during Christmas where the light show attracts people from miles around.

Laura Davies’ father was also a member of this club and the course was played by her and many other PGA tour players over the years… it now serves as a beautiful walking trail which is right outside your back door! Though, if you are a golfer and want to hit a couple of wedges out there just to say you did, let me know.
