Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park is Norway`s most frequently visited attraction covering an area of 150 acres of wild Nordic terrain. It is different from other European zoos, which are characterised by bars and heavy padlocks. In Dyreparken, the animals have wide-open spaces in which to roam – however, the visitors can still get up close to observe some of the most beautiful animals – like the red panda, which is threatened by extinction.

While the water park has several pools and attractions – like a paddling pool, obstacle course, climbing pool, big-wave pool, and five water slides – it can be pretty crowded during the most popular hours.

The shallow sandy beach by the Kristiansand Boardwalk consists of fine filled sand. By Bystranda there are seating areas, bathrobes, stairs, sand volleyball court, skate ramp, playground, and restrooms. At the plant of the bathing beach was emphasized that it should be accessible to children and the disabled.
