Depending on the current, it can be a bit rough to swim or surf. Generally only more advanced surfers surf in San Pancho but it’s always fun to watch them rip!

Local Tamales
There are some amazing local tamales outside the Kiosko on the Main Street (Av. Tercer Mundo). It’s only available in the evening from a local woman Chayo. You’ll likely find a lot of people enjoying the tamales. She has meat and vegetarian options too. They are a don’t miss!

Atarraya - new restaurant on the beach!
When you get to the entrance to the beach, turn left and you’ll see a new restaurant called Atarraya (look for the covered wooden walkway and string lights). Great drinks and great food! There is also a fresh coconut stand right next to it by the surfboard rack. Our favorite is the guacamole with chicharrón de pescado!
