The Kennel Field above Thornton Rust is a very special site with a rich and delightful wild flowers including early purple orchids, wood anemones, primrose, cowslips, rare sedge, harebells, scabious, oxeye daisies and many more. Sit a while and spend some time enjoying the view from the bench at the top of the field. You’ll not be disappointed.

Cotter Force is a beautiful series of waterfalls just off the A684 west of Hawes. They are easily wheelchair accessible along a footpath leading from a lay-by on the right hand side of the road. Kingfishers are regularly spotted.

Explore the maize and gardens, enjoy afternoon tea in the tea rooms after watching the falconry or archery displays. The Castle is open from the end of March until October.
