If you have the time or an a non-beach weather day. Make the drive to downtown Wilmington to see the historic sights, the battleship, and (my favorite) the river walk. Which stretches for about 2 miles along the Cape Fear river, where you can find lots of shops, store fronts and restaurants with water views. Our fave is Marina Grill.

Don’t miss the sunset and/or sunrise
You must be sure not to miss the sunset or sunrise on any of Wyndwater’s docks that over look fountained ponds. Just a short walk from the Airbnb to either of them. Or catch it on the bridge going across to surf city and topsail island.
