Just 8 minutes away is a great locally owned and operated brewery, tasting room & cafe. Home to a lighthearted crew, who have a passion for crafting artisanal beer. Check out this historic building and sip a beer on the patio. Bannerman Brewing Co. was the location of the city’s historic East Fire Station. Originally constructed after the Great Fire of 1892, it was rebuilt in the 1950s.

On Friday's at 5pm the great crew from Quidi Vidi Brewery host a traditional Newfoundland kitchen party - while you watch local fishermen returning from a day on the ocean. It's a must-do in the city. After you leave here, pop over to http://mallardcottage.ca/ for dinner.

If you're not from Newfoundland and want to become an honorary member during your visit - you must visit Christine's for a traditional 'screech-in' ceremony. You might just have to kiss a codfish before reciting: “Long may your big jib draw.” :)
