SAND, SURF & SKATEBOARDING We have soft, silky sand beaches, big white dunes and plenty of surf. You'll find a good surf break at The Point, located at the south end of the Marina. Bring your own skateboard for a holiday roll opposite the beach on Ocean Drive, Port Denison. A BMX track is alongside. Or take it easy and do what the locals do, drive along South Beach and set up for the morning. Catch the tranquility of an early morning walk, read a good book, bodyboard the waves or challenge the family to a game of beach cricket.

FANTASTIC FISHING Bring your dinghy, or fish off the beach, jetty or Marina breakwaters for good catches of tailor, snapper, whiting, dhufish and Western Rock Lobster. The recreational boat ramp is directly opposite Rockpool Beach House and there is plenty of room to park in the driveway. For the kids we have complimentary use of our crab nets! Best location is the jetty opposite, and you'll have the most luck during the summer months (avoid May, June, July & August). The mid-west is also the home of the famous Western Rock Lobster with the professional fishing fleet working all year. Meet the boats down the jetty and watch the days catch being unloaded. Our Western Rock Lobster Fishery was the first fishery in the world to be certified as ecologically sustainable by the World Stewardship Council in Brussels 2000.

Aproximately 60km drive from Dongara heading east. For directions contact Mingenew Tourist Centre 9928 1460. Great day for a picnic and a wander along the walk trails of this beautiful area. Keep an eye out for cockatoos, eagles, emus, kangaroos and maybe the echidna. Not to be missed!
