Filming took place at Blair Castle to tell the story of one of those visits, with two of the estate’s native Highland ponies used as Victoria and Pince Albert’s own ponies. Several Atholl Highlanders, the régiment which Queen Victoria herself founded, also feature in the episode. Blair Castle has been the home of the Atholl family for more than seven centuries and visitors can discover its history against a backdrop of fine 18th century interiors and Scotish baronial architecture.
