Sightseeing

A historic old town with plenty of charm. The town of Mesilla became part of the U.S. as part o f the Gadsden Purchase. During the Civil War it became the capital of the Arizona Territory. It is much the same as it was one hundred years ago. The thick-walled adobe buildings that were once residences are now restaurants , art galleries , and gift shops. It is about 30 minutes from the Casita, North on Hwy 28.
