Neighbourhoods

Our absolute favourite restaurant is La Pignata (also called Eau la Vache but I think they are dropping that name this season) which has a wide variety of foods and does a great takeaway pizza if the rest of the family wants to stay in. For ultimate convenience is the hotel in the apartment complex called La Table de Jeanne. Food is quite upmarket and not to everyone's taste. If there is a big group then I would book. Others we like in Val Claret are Pepe 2000, Le Grattalu, and Brasserie du Petit Savoyard (good food - rude manager - my wife loves it). Le Caveau has live music and the menu goes up and down, I think it is quite good at the moment. Avoid Tummy's restaurant. For lunch try Le Coffee and for Apres-ski you have to go to Grizzly's at least once. All these are in Val Claret and there are lots of others in Tignes le Lac. Cheese lovers should try La Ferme de 3 Capucines. A search for restaurants in Val Claret on Google will give you all the contact details. Most of the restaurants will be closed during the autumn but Pignata may be open for the Glacier skiers.
