Descripción

Our cozy and unique home is nestled in the industrial area of Wedgewood-Houston. Guests sleep on a queen bed with a memory foam mattress topper and have a bathroom all to themselves.

The room is small but has just enough space for your bags and a soft bed to crash on. Guests have their own bathroom and share the living room and kitchen with us. We have spaces inside and out for relaxing in the urban environment of the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood. The neighborhood is up-and-coming and our house is like the house from "Up" where it actually doesn't border any other houses- just buildings. It's not your traditional neighborhood but you will be safe walking around it and staying with us.

Our dogs, Millie and Franklin, are very sweet and will be your best friend forever if you pet them. Beware! They shed. Lint roller provided ;)

The latest addition to the homestead are three chickens who live in a coop we built in the backyard. The coop is right outside the guest room window. They're quiet, friendly, and it doesn't smell.

In addition to a private bedroom and bathroom, guests have access to the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Guests may use supplies in the kitchen to cook and can watch movies and shows on the TV. Guests may also make use of the chairs in the yard for some fresh air.

We are in and out during the day and are happy to socialize with guests. We are available by phone if anything is needed while we are out. Our bedroom is far from the guest room so noise is not a problem between rooms. Guests are free to come home late at night, as Nashville often tempts us to do.

Wedgewood-Houston is an up and coming place with new development popping up all the time. It's a mix of industrial buildings, new homes and apartments being built, old and new homes and all kinds of people. We are a $6 Uber ride from downtown and general amenities are easily accessible.

Our favorite places to eat within walking distance:
Dozen Bakery
Gabby's Burgers
Clawson's Pub and Deli
Smokin' Thighs (15 min walk)

Attractions:
Corsair Distillery (you can take a tour and taste their whiskey!)
Nashville Craft Distillery
United Record Pressing
Houston Station
Nashville Treasure Chest (flea market)
Fort Negly (civil war fort and information center)
Adventure Science Center
Nashville City Cemetery (graves from the civil war!)
The Basement (music venue)
Zanies Comedy Club (4 min drive)

We are within a couple blocks from bus stops, however busses do not run 24 hours per day and usually don't come by more than 1-2 times per hour.
There are some great food places you can walk to from the house.
Having a car is typically recommended for ease in navigating Nashville, though ambitious guests have happily survived weeks without a car.
We've found that Uber/Lyft easiest for guest transportation as parking downtown can be limited or expensive.
We are a 11 minute drive from Nashville International Airport without traffic.

Our neighborhood is not always quiet at night. There are train tracks near by and you can hear them chugging along or honking their horns at times. There is also a record pressing factory behind us who starts up early in the morning driving their forklift around.
On the first Saturday night of the month there is an Art Crawl in the neighborhood where galleries and studios all around our house open their doors for the community to walk through.
