The Victorian Reading Room of West Stafford is of historical importance. Used before the war as a Reading Room for the villagers and estate workers, the newspapers were provided, the village shop in the late 1930s, then a workshop and a store room for the church. We have now lovingly restored, decorated and furnished this amazing building into a cosy self catering holiday retreat, "far from the madding crowd" Open plan, comfy double sofabed, wood burner, country walks and fabulous village pub.

There is a hot tub available for your own exclusive use! In the heart of Hardy Country, ideal for walkers and cyclists. Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, the beautiful sands of Weymouth Bay are close by.

Emerald lodge is situated 11km from Monkey World and 26km from Corfe Castle , other attractions are Sculptures by the lake and Athelhampton House. Poole harbour is 32km and Bournemouth 38km . The property has a kitchen , bedroom , sofa bed and two bathrooms . An outside patio area with fire pit and bbq , private parking for 2 cars . There is a tv in the bedroom and living area . Piddlehinton is a special place, 20 mins from the Jurassic Coast and 10 mins from Dorchester, in the renowned Piddle Valley, with beautiful walks, views and our award winning pub, The Thimble Inn. We are right next door if you need anything, but if you prefer your privacy, you can be totally separate.

Just a short drive from the breathtaking Jurassic coast, The Snug at Snowdrop House offers the perfect get away to explore this beautiful and historic area. The Snug has a well equipped fitted kitchen but if you fancy going out we’d highly recommend you pop down the road to the excellent Thimble Inn! Outside there is a large decking area to enjoy some beautiful Dorset sunshine!
