Each site is convenated by QEII National Trust who describe Mahakirau "outstanding for it's ecology and wildlife value with brown kiwi, kaka, Hochsetetter's and Archey's frogs all present". We are situated in a peaceful garden setting down a private drive. We are close to the ferry to Whitianga where there are beautiful restaurants, shopping and the Lost Spring. You can walk across the road to Lonely Bay and Shakespeare Cliff. Or you can do a 15 minute drive to Cathedral Cove and the famous Hot Water Beach. The house is nestled on 4.5 acres of stunning gardens and native bush. The house consists of a 4 bedroom dwelling on the ground floor with an additional 2 bedrooms and an extra bathroom/toilet upstairs. "Kahukura" has ample parking for boats. The boat ramp is 1 kilometre away.
