As featured on the NYTimes T list, this property is a "Kyomachiya", a traditional Japanese home over 100 years old. It has been revamped from a "Nishijin-ori" (traditional Japanese textile) factory. It is located in the traditional Kamigyo Ward, minutes walk from the Imperial Palace. We collaborated with award winning architects at Ikken to renovate this space, which now accommodates the comforts of modern life, while retaining many of the original structure and elements from its past.

[Tabitabi Shinsen] is a traditional two-storey machiya , which was built in the Taisho era with more than one hundred years history. The name Shinsen comes from one of the oldest famous courtyard in Kyoto during Heian Period, "Shinsenen", which is located near our house. Here, you can experience the original and traditional Japan and the ingenuity of combining modern elements with traditional craftsmanship.

京町家貸切宿｢高瀬川七条｣は築115年の京町家をフルリノベーションした宿泊施設です｡京都の美しい風景を形作る京町家を､当時の構造を残したまま､京都特有の蒸し暑い夏､底冷えの厳しい冬にも快適にお過ごしいただけるよう､気密性･断熱性能の高い建物に仕立て直しました｡ 1階の和室からは『露地』(※茶室へ通じる庭)をイメージした坪庭をご覧いただくことができます｡また､廊下にはゆったりとくつろぎながら坪庭を眺めることができるようソファをご用意しました｡夜にはライトアップされた坪庭を眺めながら､癒しの時間をお過ごしいただけます｡ 2階には寝室が2部屋あり､シングルベッド2台の和室とシングルベッド2台の洋室をご用意しました。 5名様以上でご宿泊の場合は､少しご面倒ですが1階の和室にお布団を敷き､寝室としてご利用いただきます｡ キッチンには簡単なお料理ができるよう調理器具と食器のご用意がございます｡

We are located in Kawaramachi near downtown and convenient for public transit, just 10 min from JR Kyoto Station by taxi, 6 min walking distance from the Kawaramachi subway station, and easy access to the shopping and areas. There is very quiet surrounded by hotels and residences, yet convenient reach of bus routes to other landmarks in Kyoto.

Just 6 minutes by walk from subway Imadegawa station. You can stay like you live in Kyoto. We have wooden bath with small garden view. 'SAIGU' is a distinctly quaint 120-year-old Kyoto Machiya in the north-west area of Kyoto city. In 2010, the house was carefully and lovingly restored to its original beautiful style. It has four bedrooms so can accommodate 4 people comfortably, or 8 people max. The house is about 92 square meters.
