Whether it be vineyards, cafes and boutique shops you are after or bike trails, exploring the local lakes and landscape it’s all on your doorstep. There is good 4G cell-phone coverage. We had this cottage purpose built 20 years ago and have furnished and appointed it with love and care. One queen bedroom, one king single bedroom and Annexe 3 m away with double bed, electricity and linking deck to Bumblebee. Town water, gas water heating, in a large tree-clad garden, you have privacy + space + parking. New heatpump. Water feature. GHD! Electric blankets. Unsuitable for children under 3. Dogs must be on leash outside as we are rural. No cleaning fees. All linen supplied.

The View

On a plateau overlooking the Ruamahanga river valley is our cosy two bedroom fully self contained cottage. The views are jaw dropping, backdropped by the Tararua Ranges. On the river flats below, summer crops form a patchwork of different colours. Above, the big sky can be an endless blue or filled with rolling banks of cloud and truly spectacular sunsets. At night the wondrous canopy of stars is why the region is an official International Dark Sky Reserve. It’s all utterly peaceful.

Current owners, and your hosts, Bridget and Jono Hartnell (who live onsite) have recently converted this characteristic building into a fully functional, modern and charming house. Spacious in size, this nearly 200 square metre house is the perfect getaway for family and friend groups.
