Qué harás

We will meet and greet and start out early in the morning in the town of Wilkeson where we can grab coffee and some few supplies. After the caffeine settles in, we will take a 30min drive through a gorgeous winding forest road, over a gigantic steel one-lane ex-railroad bridge, and deep into national forests!
From there the choice is yours!
We will park at the Carbon River Entrance to Mount Rainier or Mowich Lake Entrance or up a forest road to Summit Lake trail where we can walk through old growth forests and discover an old mine (people aren’t permitted down into the mine but definitely can enjoy it from the outside), Chenuis Falls, Ranger Falls, Ipsut Falls, Mowich Lake, Green Lake, Summit Lake, and/or Tolmie Peak Lookout. Those that want to see the Carbon Glacier and don’t mind the long trek (7miles in) can keep venturing on. Beyond the glacier lies many more lakes and forests to be discovered! Wild fruits and berries usually line the trail mid to late summer, and yes, we can totally pick and eat as many as we can find!

I have been living next to Mount Rainier National Park most of my life. I’ve hiked all over and around the park in several different spots but always go back to my favorites a short drive away from where I live. My dad used to take me hunting, fishing, hiking, backpacking, and helping search for lost people with Pierce County Search and Rescue. As your guide, you’ll be safe, secure, and able to enjoy some of the most beautiful sights Mount Rainier has to offer while not coming across any large or obnoxious tour groups. My tour takes you to the most secluded areas near or in the park. There will still be other hikers but it will be so much less crowded. Weather dependent, we may do one of several hikes that show off the best views or places the mountain has to offer!

Donde estarás

The coffee shop in Wilkeson is called Nomad, and it’s pretty epic. If you came to Washington (home of Starbucks and birthplace of the greatest coffee roasters around the world) then you’re gonna love our first stop!
Chenuis Falls looks like something you’d find in an epic fantasy movie like Lord of the Rings.
Ranger Falls and Green Lake look like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
Mowich Lake nearly glows Turquoise!
Summit Lake is to be marveled.

Aaron's hike was an amazing experience. The group met a local coffee shop that has awesome coffee. After getting to know the group we headed up to the trail. Aaron gave us the choice on what all we wanted to do. We ended up doing the 3 sites that were planned for the hike and added an extra waterfall trail at the end. After we got back to our cars Aaron made sure we didn't need any directions for dinner places or anything. Overall it was an incredible experience. I definitely recommend going.

Awesome experience! Aaron is so amazing and so fun to be around. We ended up doing 15 miles and seeing 4 waterfalls. He was knowledgable and pointed things out as we went. I also happened to make really good friends with the other two guests that had signed up. Overall it was super exhausting but so invigorating. You HAVE to book with him!

Our hike with Aaron was truly one of the highlights of our trip. He was super responsive, thoughtful and caring all while engaging with my 10 and 12 yr olds. He took us to some magical spots and encouraged the kids to keep going while listening to them and pointing stuff out to them along the way. Thank you for helping us create great memories!

I had a really awesome time on Aaron's guided hike. Book a spot – you won’t regret it, trust me. You can book a lot of guided hikes around Mt. Rainier, but nothing beats the experience of traveling with someone like Aaron, who does guided hikes just because he chooses to and loves the area. Aaron guided our group of five hikers through some of the most stunning forest I’ve ever seen. It had recently rained, so everything was lush and alive. We’re talking “fairy tale,” “Hansel & Gretel on the way to the witch’s hut” kind of forest. Moss dripping from the trees, towering redwoods, fragrant cedar, drifting mists, sneaky little mushrooms sprouting up from everywhere, huckleberry and thimbleberry and raspberry sprouting in the bushes, teensy squirrels, and more more more. I could go on. In fact, if I don’t stop myself, I will go on. I am but a novice hiker and from a much, much lower elevation, to boot (430’ in Dallas vs. ~1,500’+ on the Green Lake Trail), so the hike up to Green Lake was challenging, I’ll admit. But the views--and the company!--were well worth some huffing and puffing. Our guide, the aforementioned Aaron, was very accommodating and assured us there was no rush. We saw very few people during our hike, and if you’re like me, that’s a bonus. We had all day to take in some of the most amazing scenery this sweaty Southerner has had the pleasure of seeing in person. Two waterfalls, a crystal clear waterfall pool, multiple sections of the glacier-fed Carbon River, and the absolutely breathtaking Green Lake. We had quite cloudy, misty weather for our hike, which made for cool air--but I can only imagine how the calm, clear waters of Green Lake must look when the sun is out and shining. The surface was so still you could see the reflection of everything around the lake in great detail. Aaron himself was very friendly, confident, and knowledgeable about the area. He was particularly good at identifying what berries to eat (and not eat), which for me made the experience all the more fun and immersive. Aaron is well-traveled, and talking to him and the rest of our group was a breeze. I came for the views, but I made some friends too, which was definitely a perk. Anyway, make sure you have some sturdy hiking shoes (I recommend a size larger than your usual) and get ready for a good time. Thanks again, Aaron!

From meeting the group in the coffee shop, the PB&J sandwiches at lunch, and most importantly the wonderful views and great conversation this hike was more than what I imagined. A good pair of hiking shoes are absolutely recommended. The trail takes you to part of the park many miss but makes the hike all the more worth it.

Wow, great day. 22km in old growth forest surrounded by mist most of the day. Mushrooms sprouting everywhere after overnight rain, magical green lake, waterfalls, a deer grazing and all the while exchanging stories with new friends. Aaron was an amazing guide, the day was unrushed and he had in-depth knowledge of the area and vegetation. I tried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the first time.....delicious!
