Qué harás

The hike lasts approximately 2 hours including time to stop to take pics & breaks. We'll be hiking on trails in beautiful south Palm Springs in the Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument in scenic desert terrain. As we hike you'll get a close up look at plants & different types of cacti & enjoy amazing views from the desert valley floor below, all the way up to beautiful mountain peaks.

The Peninsular Bighorn Sheep, an endangered species is back in the desert for the winter & hopefully we'll see some or other desert animals.

From the trail we'll stop & see the Bob Hope house, the windmills, the Little San Bernardino Mountains that go into the western mountain perimeter of Joshua Tree National Park all to the north, the San Jacinto mountains to the west, Mount San Gorgonio (the tallest mountain in Southern California at 11,501 ft.), Palm Springs and other desert cities of the Coachella Valley. As we head back down we will see Indian Canyons, ancestral home of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians that settled in the area 5000 years ago.

See my other 2 hikes that are longer/more challenging below. If there's a certain date/time you'd prefer to do one of my hikes contact me. Thanks & I hope to hike with you soon.

Visiting Palm Springs & want to go hiking, but don't know where to go? I can help make it very easy. I know some of the best trails around & this hike will take you through a beautiful desert landscape with great photo opportunities along the way. I will also provide you with water, a snack, a backpack & a hiking pole. I'm Carlos & I've been hiking the local Palm Springs trails for 6 years now. I'm an avid hiker/runner & love being outdoors exploring the beauty of the desert. I've been lucky enough to see lots of different desert animals & plants close up. The desert is a very beautiful & peaceful place that I never get tired of exploring. I'm always very happy to help others see & appreciate the desert like I do.

Donde estarás

We'll be in south Palm Springs in the Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument on Native American land. You'll see desert vegetation/plants & cacti as we hike & also enjoy amazing views of the desert valley floor all the way up to beautiful mountain peaks. There will be lots of great picture taking opportunities along the way. Maybe we'll see Peninsular Bighorn Sheep, an endangered species or other animals.

Carlos is great!!! I loved the hike - fun, challenging, and great views of the Bob Hope House and exclusive homes along Southridge Drive. Carlos taught me that hikers going uphill have the right-of-way!! :) He also taught me about the desert botany and flora, and had hiking poles and water for extra support. Awesome way to spend a Saturday morning in South Palm Springs! :)

Carlos is a super guide, and the hike was fantastic. We climbed about two miles up the hills to an awesome view, including the sprawling Bob Hope mansion. Carlos was so interesting to talk with, and we shared great stories about our lives and perspectives. It was an experience I would highly recommend, and would do this again!

Carlos was such a friendly host! This experience is great if you are looking for a hike that’s not too intensive but still want to enjoy the great canyon/desert view. Carlos shared with us lots of stories about Palm Springs area in general and also his passion for hiking. I had a great time chatting with him during the hike.
