The best that New York has to offer: amazing history, dizzying landmarks and sounds of jazz! Join me for a walk along Fifth Ave - the name associated with wealth, glitz, and glamor. Fifth Ave is one of the best-known streets in the world, especially its stretch known as Millionaire Row. Once upon a time, the Row was lined with the finest homes of New York's wealthiest people -- a place of ambition, intrigue, scandal, and the most spectacular balls ever given. We'll meet in front of the venerable Plaza Hotel, and will delve into some of its captivating stories. We will proceed down 5th Ave and view its famous sites, notably Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Tiffany's, Trump Tower, Cartier, to name a few. We'll talk Vanderbilts and Astors, who once called Fifth Ave home. We will finish at a place where the sounds of jazz rule the night ( food and drinks are available and advisable!) #Fridays only: you'll be treated to smokin' hot jazz, glamorous Chanteuses, scintillating Burlesque, and swing dancing. I want you to feel like a local just strolling through the city with friends rather than a tourist. Check out my Instagram page (@myportablenyc) for some interesting New York photos. I love New York, with all its inexhaustible energy and fascinating history, as well as meeting new people and introducing them to the greatest city on earth. As an amateur historian, avid storyteller, and a licensed New York City tour guide, I'd be delighted to share my passion for the culture and history of New York with you. I've given guided tours all around the city for years, but my true passion lies in finding special places with captivating stories that transport you to another time. I hope you'll join me on my journey through the history and streets of New York! I'm also a swing dancer - which means that I am a part of a fantastic community of people who are in love with music and with life. We will be walking a stretch of 5th Ave b/w 59th Street to 42nd. The whole walk is less than a mile. We'll see the Plaza, the Pulitzer Fountain, Tiffany's, Trump Tower, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, etc. I'll show you the places where Vanderbilt's palaces used to stand. We'll be able to experience Fifth Ave and imagine the way it used to be during the Gilded Age. We'll finish with live jazz and cocktails!

I want to show you places and things that I love most about New York: history and jazz. To me there is nothing better than a stroll around the city which ends in a cozy place where sounds of jazz rule the night. I'd like you to feel like a local out with friends rather than a tourist.
