It is totally private without being isolated, it is on its own little hill overlooking the bay of Liscannor and within walking distance to the Cliffs. Inside the walls are 3-foot-thick with the cottage being over 200 years old and has hand -made interior wooden shutters to cover the large light filled windows

The cottage is close to Clarinbridge famous for the Oyster festival and gastronomic eateries including Paddy Burke’s Pub and Moran’s of the Weir. A perfect location to explore Galway City, the wild beauty of Connemara, the breathtaking Burren in Co Clare and the majestic Cliffs of Moher ☘️

Wild strawberry Shepard’s Hut with Hot Tub

Beautiful shepherds hut powered by solar for an off grid experience along the Wild Atlantic Way situated on Connemara farm land located 20 minutes from Galway city and 10 minutes from Oughterard and Lough Corrib. Sleeps 3 with a double bed and a single bed. Kitchenette with running water and gas hob, separate fire pit/BBQ area and outhouse with toilet, sink and heated shower. There is a small wood burning stove in the Shepherds hut with kindling provided. Towels and bedding are also provided.

Hill climbing to the rear and beach walks to the front of the cottage, there are possibly few locations to compare with this cottage

The Red Stonecutters Cottage

Red Stonecutters Cottage is perched atop stunning Doonagore, a short drive from Doolin village. From this high point, you'll enjoy views of the Atlantic Ocean, Aran Islands and the Burren. The cottage is a great base to enjoy the music in the Doolin pubs, beach in Lahinch and the harbour village of Liscannor. The cottage dates back to after the famine and has been restored to preserve the original character, complemented by carefully selected period pieces to maintain its authentic charm.

Long side Lough Corrib. .Enjoy private walks through owner’s farm and nice quiet walks to the lake and 15th century castle. Connemara, with its rugged beauty, mountains, rivers, lakes and unspoilt beaches all from the doorstep, as is The Burren. Retreat to this charming and elegant home located just a short drive from Miltown Malbay, Lahinch and the Cliffs of Moher. This house is nestled in nature, offering private access to the old native woodland of the Glendine Valley. It accommodates a couple or two guests with loads of spaciousness, a family of four would be very comfortable, and pets are welcome.

The chalet is 5 minutes’ walk of the seashore, with numerous beaches nearby. A pub, a supermarket and a post-office are all within 15 minutes’ walk. We are near An Spidéal, where you can find cafés, pubs, shops, restaurants, pharmacies, a medical centre, and a craft village. Located in the heart of the Irish-speaking Gaeltacht, near Galway City, and on the Wild Atlantic Way, we are in an ideal location to explore Conamara, the Aran Islands and County Clare.

Nearby public transport is available to Galway city (30 mins) and further west to other destinations in Connemara.

Folan’s Cottage is a beautiful architecturally designed holiday home that was rebuilt in 2010 from two ruined stone cottages. It is only a few meters from a wonderful quiet sandy beach, with views of the Twelve Bens and across the ocean to the Arann Islands. The setting is magical and remote with just rabbits, sheep and Connemara ponies as your neighbours.
